Anyone use Aqua C EV1000 Skimmers??

I just took over a clients tank that has 2 EV 1000's running on it w/ Iwaki 70's powering them. The tank is a 1300 gallon shark tank that been up approx. 7 months and the skimmers have not been running the entire time. The other company told them that the tank had to "break in" before the skimmers should be ran. After 7 months the "broke in tank" is now covered in cyno and is a total mess that I now have to fix. Are they worth using or should I scrap em'? The client has spent WAY more than needed already and I'm just trying to save them some cash.

Aqua C skimmer work great when you set them right. They can be very finiky and they work best when overpowered with a more powerful pump. I suggest asking what pump works best on the 1000, I only know about the 180 so i can't help you out much there. You shouldn't have to swap them out when you get them running you will be pleased.
