Anyone Using a Wave2k?

Is anyone out here using a Wave2K wave maker? I've been looking at them online, but I can't really get a true feeling about them without asking the group first. They have a video clip on their page, http://www.wave2k.com. But I'm still not sold.
I'm currently running a SeaSirl on my 100g main tank, and I recently bought a SCWD, but I have not hooked it up yet.

I have not installed the two I got yet but will post the resultas as soon as I have. I will say that the inventor/owner (Mike) is very helpful and wants his product to be the best. Great support so far

Will do. I am waiting on the vertical part since I don't have room behind. Might be here tomorrow

I don't know about replacing a closed loop but in my case it is. In a 225 I have two. The water movement that I saw in a similiar tank was very good. No more powerheads or loop. They are big (16x16) but blend in after your healthy tank covers them in growth.

Noise is my major concern. Thank and power consumption. I'm hoping to find someone with a home video clip /w sound or someone in the bay area that can let me check out their setup.

OK finally got around to instaling two wave2K's in my 250. Just for info my tank is 30 x 30 x 60. I have Euro bracing.

In order to install I used the vertical mount option. Both units were mounted on the rear long wall, equally spaced.

The only short coming are the instructions. They are lacking but Mike is just a phone call away. And he bends over backwards to help.

As they say the proof is in the pudding and this is a very fine system. Most complains center around noise and the unit does make some but if it is to much, something is not adjusted right.

One unit was perfectly set up and very quiet. About the same noise level as my cooling fans. The other was noisy but adjusts out.

I would give it a 9 out of 10 for value, a 8 out of 10 for instructions and a 10 out of 10 for function. My only complait about function is that I wish they had a deeper model (maybe 22 inches). Then I would have a 16 inch and a 22 inch to eliminate any voids in coverage.

Just on a side note, after installing both units I blew off all my rock. The units kept everything suspended until my filters could deal with it. Great benefit!

Oh, all of my guys really love the surf with the ebb and flow

I will get some photos up today. As far as taking the tank apart, no. I have a tank that is against the wall so I needed the vertical option. (I could have moved the 225 tank and 50 gal refugium but chose not to). Since I have Euro bracing I had to notch out a place on the back for the system to sit. I my case this was a three inch notch, held 1 inch off the back. The suction cups hold it 1 inch off of the back hence the 1 inch hold off.

To be honest, the hardest part was notching the 3/4 plexi.. The you just lower the unit in, press it against the glass, plug it in and fine tune it.

Then enjoy. BTW, I was in the process of building 4 Maxi Mods and don't need them any more!
