Anyone with helpful tips on rock structures

I'm going to be building a new rock structure for my tank. I'll be putting it in next weekend when I move the tank to the new stand.

I got a fiberglass rod from HD and some JB water weld. I figure I will find the positioning I want and then pre-drill some holes. I will JB weld the rods in place and then zip tie them together.

Any other tips you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Guess you missed the meeting where I scored my awesome rock work? Thanks to Mr. Tom aka northbay_reefer

Yeah I missed that one. I really wanted to make it but we were camping. The piece you got from Tom is awesome. I hope my pieces look half as good as that

yeah it is very awesome just waiting for it to turn all purple and beautiful with coraline. right now when the lights are out it almost look a flouressent green. also the corals i got are growing in nicely except for some of the chalices that are dying:sad1:

Nick, the only thing I can add is as you rod the pieces add small wads of epoxy as you go to stabilize any of the pieces that shift around too much. Thats epoxy without any superglue just as more of a shim.
