I bought the full version, and I must say, one of the best investments I ever made on my tank... My Temp via controlled by Apex is always stable...I used to get 2-3 Degree swings. Now I am at 78.0 to 79.0 at all times...

What I'm finding I love about the Apex is the ability to quickly shut something off. Feed Modes, Water Change Modes, and the piece of mind to know everthing is on and working... I can Flip on my iPhone at work, and quickly get a status of the tank.... I also integrated live video feed, something I always have dreamed of doing...

If you have Vortech's you can completely program different modes at any times to independent pumps... Which is awesome for me because I have different kinds of corals on different sides of the tank. I prefer my right side to be more turbulent then the left... I have a few low flow corals on the left.. I program the Vortechs to sync up time wise with my Radions coming on, going off, different intensities, faster surges at peak hours ect.... All this just as an example...

Anyone else just recently take the plunge?? I am fascinated by the power of these controllers... Super Upgrade to anyones aquarium!!

I've had my Reef Angel for almost a year and, like you, think it's the best investment I've made. I wouldn't have an apple product in my house so I can't comment on that app, but the android app is excellent and the web portal is the greatest thing going. For all the talk about needing to program the RA, I just don't get it, the software walks you through the whole process for all the common functions. The only time you'd ever need to write your own code is if you want to set up something that can't even be done on most other controllers.
Where else can you get
* Temp control
* 8 channels of dimming (choice of analog, PWM, or both)
* 8 controllable outlets
* full web and wifi access
* pH monitoring
* temp and pH data logging/graphing
and a whole lot more for under $450? It even allows me to play practical jokes on my wife! Last summer I called my wife from the boat and told her that I had an error message and that I meeded her to check to see if the lights were on. "Yes...no, wait, they went off...wait, they're on again..." There's nothing like having a remote control that works from 100 miles away! Except maybe being able to check on a tank in NJ, when you're in Vancouver.

Today, the team at Neptune helped me get my Apex up and running and working!! For those who just are not so savy in this arena it was awesome to get the help. A huge thanks from us for a job so well done!

I have had a slightly different experience with my Apex. I purchased new a few weeks ago. I can't say that I don;t like it but I have had difficulties with everything I have tried to do.
On initial setup..my firmware got corrupted and the EB8 and controller would not communicate. I called Apex support multiple times over multiple days and could never speak to anyone. I left multiple messages and never got a call back.
I emailed support and they kept asking me the same question over and over..."Is there a green light?" when every time the answer was no. That was five emails and 3 days.
Eventually they did help via email and it is up and running.
I purchased the plug to use my Tunze variable speed pump but the adapter side to the Tunxe did not fit..I emailed..never got a response from support although I got help on the forum so that is fixed.
Now I am trying to program the Tunze and although they give directions..I can't seem to get it to work. I admit I have only tried once and I do need to try again.
I personally think they could make the programing a little easier thru the wizards.

Overall..once I get this up and running I will be very happy with it..but I would never say they have good support. I would love it if I could talk to someone in support and have them help me get the Tunze setup as well as a few other things I want to do. I am not going to be a power user..just the basics.
