Apex Backlight

The backlight has developed a mind of its own and turns on and off seemingly on its own. Are there any settings for this that I can look into?

The backlight has separate settings for day and night and the time for day and night can also be set so it is possible that you are seeing the display drop into night mode.

System->Display->Set Daytime
System->Display->Day brightness
System->Display->Night brightness
