Just got the Neptune Aquacontroller Apex a couple of weeks ago. Have had it running, sitting on my computer desk since I got it to test it, and make sure it wasn't a lemon before putting it on my system and risking fish. After the two weeks of what seemed like smooth sailing, I unplugged it, moved it to the fish room and plugged in all the various pumps heaters, etc.... And guess what.... The infamous blank screen on the display module PLUS what appears to be a dead base unit. The status light on the base unit will not light up, the lan port shows yellow light only regardless of being plugged in or not, obviously no lan/net connectivity.... looks like I may have gotten a brick.
Now, here's where I'm confused. How could this thing go from running perfectly fine one second to being a massive failure the next? All I did was unplug it and move it. It's been behind a UPS the entire time, so no surge concerns. I've since tried numerous other outlets, with and without the UPS... no luck.
In looking through the forums here and elsewhere, it looks like these problems may be fairly common with this controller.
Any thoughts before I contact Neptune? Should I seek a refund and move on or give this controller another chance?
