APEX/GHL opinions

Considering getting an Apex or GHL Profiluxe for piece of mind during vacation or travel for work. Anyone have some input on these devices? Recent reviews for Apex on BRS do not look promising, so was curious what others thoughts may be on either of these controllers. Also open to other suggestions for similar products.

thanks

So I run 3 seperate systems and all have Apex controllers on them. I will say I am not a fanboy and Apex products tend to be a little under built for their costs. The WAV is garbage the trident does its job but again is flimsy built but the controllers work well for an OCD type like me.

Just my 2 cents.

I would only recommend the apex controller. All other products, modules, and accessories from Neptune have been overpriced headaches. Wave pumps don't last more than a year, cor pumps power adapters will crap out in a year, any magnetic accessories will explode in under 2 years, etc. These are all personal experiences with neptune just from 2020.

im running GHL and will say its super stereotypical German company; "straight to the point". You can tell the company is 100% run by scientists and programmers. It takes multi clicks to get to do something simple. Little things like wording is confusing on menus.

An example, you HAVE to click save settings after you make a change. Were so use to just clicking enter or closing out of the window and it auto saves. With every input you have to click save.... BUT not just click save... then you have to click "refresh view" to then force it to show the current settings. yahhhh........ :(

with that said, i actually trust it more. You know these are hardcore programmers that could care less about user experience which in a weird way i trust more.

secondly its online "cloud sync" feature is still in beta. Yes, its 2020 and they still have a beta program to control their devices via wifi/internet.

So after everyone here's input and the reef automation channels comparison, I went Apex. Got it today, now to see how long it takes me to install it, haha.

Thanks for the input folks.
