Apex Head Unit Dead

I purchased this about a month ago and I just got home to find that my head unit is out. Everything seems to be working okay and I didn't get a text/email about a power loss. Anyone have an idea?

I assume you are refering to the display unit. I have not had this issue, but there have been posts recently where users were able to restore operation by unplugging the display, waiting a bit (time varied), and then plugging it back in. Can you report the firmware version you are running? There were display issues that have been corrected in later versions.

I wish I knew which firmware, but unfortunately I don't. I bought the unit in January and believe it is running whichever firmware shipped with it. I guess I'll try and just shut it down for a bit and go from there. Thanks

Well, I was reponding to your first post were you said everything else seemed to be working. By not being able to access from the internet, I assume you mean outside your network. Can you access it from inside your network?

Todd

Sorry, I didn't explain that well. I have only been accessing it from inside the network and I'm not having any luck. It just loads and loads and eventually says the page is unresponsive. My temperature is staying stable and the lights and pumps are coming on like they're supposed to, but the display is just black. I tried unplugging it all for 30-40 minutes, but no luck.

Oh, and thanks for the help. I posted in here hoping a rep would offer some help, but I also emailed them..fingers crossed...I'm nervous aobut not having it working

Okay, so apparently it changed IP addresses so I can now access it and I'm back to just the display not working

Great, check the firmware version. Via the web, Configuration > Network Setup, there is a table at the bottom (Aquacontroller Version). The latest is 4.04_2B11.

For what its worth, Andrew, my display as well as a friends went completely dark a few days ago. Firmware upgrades took care of the issue no problem. It was a known issue that has been resolved.

Definitely make sure you get the latest firmware and update it.

Brandon

Okay, that one is just prior to the latest but I believe has the display fixes. It would not hurt to go ahead with the update. Once that is done, check the Module firmware version (Configuration > Module Setup) in the table at the bottom of the page. My Display shows SW Rev 009(OK). If necessary update the module firmware in the window at the top. It will pop up a window indicating update progress, but it is not always accurate. Wait several minutes and refresh the page and see if the SW Rev updates. If none of that fixes the issue, than contact Neptune Support.

Okay, thanks for the help. I'll update everything tonight when I get home. I'm also in contact w/ Neptune, but I think b/c this happened right before the weekend it's pretty bad timing.
