Apex Question

I have an APEX now and for the life of me I am struggling with the power outlets (specifically how they are named).

Here is what the web says - WHICH SOCKET IS THE Light 1_3_1???

This jargon is killing me...lol - I took my drills charger and went to each socket until I found one that was on (sad but true).

HELP!

Guessing you are using a DB8 or DC8: from top left to right proceeding to bottom left then right the outlets are 1234 then 5678. One or two of the outlets has s different switching current rating. They are designated A01, B01, C01, or D01 through those tiny little switchy jobbys on the side. The manual will tell you what configuration to have those tiny switches in to have the switched outlets as A,B,C, or D. Controllers are an enormous convenience/tool, but complicated, so you are not alone in your struggles to understand them.

Want me to stop up tomorrow and help? THAT part I have down pat. lol. How many energy bars do you have on the new system? Looks like you have two. 1_3_x is the first one and 1_4_x is the second one. UWUALineman was correct in the sequence 1234 on top then 5678 on the bottom row.

YES Vance. lol... It is an Energey bar 8. The funny thing is I only have one bar hooked up and even though I told the lights to come on @ 11:00 and off @ 19:30 the socket is still on...(whichever one Light1_3_1 is).

add a line to your program that says:
"Set off" (without the quotes)
That will set the outlet off then you tell it when to be on.
how did you set your light program?
I'd suggest the following:

Fallback OFF
Set OFF
If Time 11:00 to 19:30 Then ON
If Temp > ?? Then OFF
Min Time 030:00 Then OFF

first line sets the outlet to off if communicaton/ power is interupted
second line sets the outlet to normally off
third line turns it on between 11 and 19:30
fourth line turns the light off if a max temp is reached (you decide)
fifth line keeps the lights off for 30 minutes to allow the light to cool off before getting turned on again. (assuming it's a halide)

If you haven't done so, I highly recommend reading the "unofficiall Apex User Guide". It's stickied at the top of the Neptune forum and fills in a lot of gaps with the "official" user guide.

Good point if there is one complaint about Neptune it's that the manuals could be written better IMO. The unofficial guide is easier to understand.

Vance came up and helped me (BIG THANKS VANCE!!! :)). I would have figured it out in a few days otherwise. For some reason the unit thought there were two bars hooked up and there was only one. That being said the nonexistant bar was the one it was trying to power up... who knows why. So, he suggested we delete both E8 s on the screen and see what happens. Having done that it detected the single bar and all was well with the world! Thanks for all of the helps/suggestions listed above as well; much appreciated and I will check out the handbook.
