aptasia and clam

hi everybody could a aptasia on the shell of a clam sting the clam so it doesnt open, my clam has been closed now for two days the only thing that i can see is the aptasia on the shell (the clam has ben in the tank for almost a year)

killed the aptasia and it took a day for it to open back like normal

I often have that problem too... I've got a tooth brush that is my clam scrubbing aptasia removing brush.
