How do i get rid of some aptasia that are growing in the middle of a large colony of eagle eyes? I have Joes Juice, but i dont know if it will kill them too.

Do you have a scalpel? They may sell them at reef stores as fragging tools. If you take the blade and cut the base out w/ some of the top layer of rock you should be able to remove it without incident.

Good luck!

Or perhaps lay a very thin line of cotton/ gauze pad around the aiptaisia and use Joe's Juice so the gauze will soak it up and not creep to the surrounding zoas.

Then lift the cotton pad up before it gets soaked.

Hi Dan

I had the same problem but used some Kalkwater with a Syringe to kill the aptasia. If you are careful you can kill the aptasia. I found that closing my zoas by disturbing them before atttacking the aptasia helped in preveting the kalk from getting into their polyps and killing them.
Hope that helps

I have very good luck with a small syringe (bd or monoject, used for injecting meds like insulin). I fill it with lemon juice, insert the syringe directly into the mouth of the aptasia (or in my case, majano) and give a small squirt of lemon juice. Even if it closes, I just push the syringe into the body and sqirt.

Works everytime, doesn't disturb the neighbors.

i take out the rock and drop a bit of cyanoacrylic over the hole and basicly trap it inside.. it can never come out anymore

Do not cut the aptasia!!! All you'd be doing id fragging the little booger. Go with what dawn said and make your zoos close up and then juice it and/or I will super glue over the base as well. JMO

I used some kalk paste and a piece of rigid airline tubing. First, I made the zoo colony close and then I put a dab of kalk paste on the aiptasia. The zoo colony was fine and the aiptasia was never seen again.
