Aptasia type anemone?

These mini little aptasia type anemones have exploded in my tank out of nowhere. My peppermint shrimp ate all of the regular aptasia but will not touch these. They're really small and have frilly tenticles. Anyone know exactly what they are? I'm thinking of removing the rock to treat them because there are far too many to hit with joes juice or kalk. Anyone have any other suggestions? I love this particular rock or else I would probably just get rid of it at this point.

They do appear to be a type of anemone but never seen anything like them. What part of the world did your LR come from? Maybe from there we can narrow it down.

That is the beginnings of a pesky anthelia colony.. Nuke them if you do not want an out of control rogue colony..

Definitely not aptasia, (as others have mentioned) it's an "invasive" coral that will take over your tank. I'd simply remove the infected rock from your system.

Anthelia. They can be be okay if you keep it separated from other rock work and corals. It can take over you tank.

Only thing that's difficult with keeping them separated, is if you have one single goofy polyp that comes loose.. Lol, those things are just about guaranteed to lodge themselves in a rock in the back.. And then, wham! You've got a problem..

Plus, the ones in the images aren't even an interesting color.
Not. Worth. Keeping.

Remove and toss the rock :p
