Aqua C Remora mod

I want to put something over the injection chamber of my remora to quite it down some. I had originally cut a majic eraser sponge and plugged it up and it worked great, but my wife said that she didn't think that it would be safe for the tank. I couldn't find anything on the net about it containing any chemicals but now I'm paranoid. A few days later my wife came home with a cheap sponge she picked up at the store, but on the back it said that it was not aquarium safe. I was thinking about getting an aquarium floss pad and cutting it to fit. Suggestions?

Already know what to do... here is a link the the mod, it is only about 5 bucks if you don't have the materials. I have it running currently on my tank.

I would like to quiet mine down also, but I can't get that link to work. What exactly do you put the sponge on, and does it decrease performance.

I had read this before and I was worried that it would decrease the performance of the skimmer that is why I was looking at using some sort of sponge so it will still be able to draw air in.

I used a piece of foam rubber to make a muffler.

Magic eraser sponges are safe for use in aquariums. There are several thread people have posted about using them to clean the glass/acrylic with.
