Aqua C Remora

Ok soo I currently have an Aqua C Remora and was really please when I first bought it as it took out a ton of dissolved organics but it seems it clogs and I need to clean it every week (like throughly clean it not just clean the collection cup) Even after cleaning it doesnt seem to pull alot of DO out as other people say theirs pull a lot out. The skimmate is very dark in color and I was wondering if Aqua C Remoras had a way to change how wet it skims. So far I have yet to find away to control the skimmate. I also was wondering if my powerhead is strong enough to run it. I currently have a Maxi-Jet 1200 running on the skimmer. Any help or other experiences would be helpful thanks.

ummm adjusting the big black o-ring on the collection cup will to that for you, also you can tweak the air intake screw slightly might help

i called remora a while ago since i wasnt pleased with it hearing how everyones was pulling DO so well mine was not.

the person whom i talked with told me after the breakin period it will just do its own thing and as far as controlling it the only thing i could do is adjust the cup height like vacavillefc3 stated via O-ring.

however that little intake screw it has does not affect its performace i was informed by the person whom i called i was simply imformed that that was placed there for cleanning purposes.

as far as you having to clean your skimmer so often i dont know anthing about. i have only cleaned the collection cup on mine so far but thats it.

my suggestion is to try and use a diatom filter and try to clean your tank a bit so that there isnt so much debree clogging it.

i have mine hooked up to a sump right next to where the water spills and it does ok IMO even tho i would like to see it pull out more dark stuff even with the collecton cup adjusted high it still pulls out dark...but very wet skimmate...i was expecting the gunk to be thicker...maybe im wrong.

Ok I will try adjusting the o-ring...what pump are you guys running with it?

My pump hangs lower in my water column should I try to move the pump more towards the surface of the water? Would this maybe help pulling out DO?

Not an adjustment screw, just for cleaning with the brush that comes with the skimmer.

The spray injector that powers your skimmer is designed to be maintenance free. In the unlikely event that a piece of
algae or debris becomes clogged in the assembly, you can easily access the injector by unscrewing the small, white
Injector Access Screw (see diagram below). Be sure and unplug the water pump before performing injector
maintenance! Use a standard head screwdriver and remove the small screw by turning it counterclockwise â€"œ try not
to let the screw fall into the skimmer once it is loose. Once removed, use the special injector brush to vigorously
scrub the inside of the injector and spray port.
