Hello all I curently have a aqua japan 15g tank set up and I wanted to add a sump to it. Now I am not sure what is the best way to go about this. Any help would be appreciated.

Well since I didnt get a respone in a 130 views so I left it....so that brings me to my next problem I cant fit a skimmer in the chambers soooooo what should I do LR will just collect detritus and I dunno if a hob filter will do it any good. Thoughts or comments???

Flow behind the rock work will help prevent detritus from building up but you could do a HOB skimmer unless that is what you meant by HOB filter.

well I meant filter but Im not opposed to a hob skimmer...got a particular brand in mind?

No i have never used a HOB skimmer before but here is a great skimmer thread it is long so if i were you i would skip to posts dating 2011-2012 because tech changes so much the last couple post are about HOB skimmers but if you are still unsure about skimmers then just ask mojo on that thread he is the best when it comes to skimmers knowledge here is the link

not too familiar with your particular tank but to add a sump i'm assuming that you'd need to drill and use a gl******es.com overflow or if you dont want to drill, use a CPR or eshopps style overflow box. after that, build a sump and get a skimmer. filtration can be handled by a filter sock on the drain line leading to the sump

edit-- didnt see one of your posts, after reading you have chambers i'm assuming its an AIO so maybe if you can drill the tank (bottom or side depending on whether or not its tempered) and add a dorso or herbie in the back chamber, then put your skimmer and what not below in the sump

Well I went ahead and modded the tank and it now has a sump. Would a mp10 be to much for a 15-20 tank?
