Aqua Medic Titan Chiller

I am looking into buying a chiller for my 37 gallon Capensis seahorse tank. They need the water temp 68-72 degrees. These claim to be quiet and they require less flow than some models I have seen.

I am considering the 250 model 1/6 hp.

Anyone have any experience with these?

If not, any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Elizabeth

I have been using an Titan 250 for about 2 years on my 105 gallon. The unit is quiet and only consumes about 200 watts. I notice the fans on my canopy more than the chiller. I'm a big stickler on noisy equipment. I have worked very hard to make my aquarium a quiet as possible, and the Titan 250 gets my thumbs up. It seems like every manufacturer labels their products as "quiet" while many are not. OK, enough of my ranting.

I keep my aquarium at 80 F and the A/C in the house at 75 (I live in Florida, I don't even have a heater in my aquarium). I had to buy a chiller to offset the heat from the lights. This chiller will handle your 37 with ease. The temp control is celcius in 1 degree increments, will go down to 4 degrees C. Mine has been running on about a 50% duty cycle while the lights are on (not needed at night) non-stop for 2 years with not a single glitch.

Flow wise, Aquamedic recommends 200 GPH, I use a Quiet One 250 plumbed in my sump with bulkheads and thick flexible tubing about 6 feet in each direction.
