aqua top lighting confusion!

So i have a 21 gallon aqua top biotope thats been running 4 weeks now and things are great!

i'm working with4 white led's 2 blue led's
i have been manually running the lighting for a month, i have 2 switches(white/blue)

my problem is that i want to add a timer, but they are not run on different cords and i love the led's they work great so no need to upgrade. any suggestions?

If you only have 1 cord then a timer would only be of use to turn the lights on and off. You would not be able to switch the whites and blue on or off at different times.

In retrospect I guess you could you know how to wire a timer to the switches on the board. But thats not my department.

Would complete darkness be fine every now and again on a timer. Im mostly concerned with when i go away for a weekend

There are times the ocean is overcast for days at a time. So yes, a few days wont hurt the tank.
