aqua Vitro fuel or Acropower

So I am thinking tank is too clean. I am barely getting any readings on PO4 and NO3.

Tank water volume is 120 ish
Calcium is 490
Alk is 7.9
Mag is 1200.

I have 7 fish that gets fed once a day with NLS pellets.

I use Aquaforest probiotic salt and do a 15 % water once a week.

The corals started out strong with a bit of growth but now they are pale and some of them has no PE.

Tank has been set up now for close to a year with some ups and downs but now seem to be stable.

I would like to add some aminos and was wondering which one to go with between the two.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you in advance! Cheers

I use Acropower and I've not used it for awhile. No earth shattering differences whether I used it or not.

I got better results not skimming for two weeks than I ever did using Acropower. Not saying Acropower doesn't help though in certain situations.

Hey thank you for the response. I definitely will consider your suggestion regarding turning off the skimmer...would it make it more difficult to keep nitrates and phosphates at bay??

I have used acro power in the past with no noticeable differences. I have been using fuel for the past 6 months and have noticed a difference. Better polyp extension and growth of my LPS and sps.

Thanks. So forgot to mention that I have used acropower in the past and saw some polyp extension and that's about all I can remember. Although it does have good reviews from ppl I did not personally get a considerable difference.
I don't see a lot of reviews on the Aqua Vitro Fuel.

So did the Aqua Vitro. Initial effect was immediate PE after couple of hours. Seems promising. Will report back in a couple months.

Scorpius, do you mind expanding on the idea of turning off/leaving off a skimmer....Please?

I have a big skimmer for my system and it pulls out straight mud.

I tried acropower for 6mths and then stopped and saw zero diff in sps growth or color. I would try something else like ME Amino's.

I think Scorpius is just saying leave the skimmer off so your water is a bit dirtier as some sps like a bit dirtier water.

I have used both and still do. I. I noticed an immediate difference in PE after adding acropower. With fuel, it's not as dramatic but they add some other elements to their mixture that seems to help out my softies and LPS as well. I like to dose a little acro power about an hour before I spot feed.

So, you're telling me that the new, shiny skimmer that was almost a mortgage payment, needs to be shut off?

Maybe not shut off, but a drier skim that doesn't pull as much out of the water may be prudent. I'm just talking theoretical as every tank is different. I haven't skimmed in several weeks due to using Fluconazole to treat for Bryopsis.

My goniporas suddenly have considerable PE. So does the acros. Let's see what happens

Acropower and Fuel can't really be compared..
Acropower of basically aspartic acid- one amino acid..
It certainly has been shown to help with starving corals but not sure if it's simply the added nutrients from the amino acid or the actual amino acid that helps..
Fuel is a blend of several trace minerals, aminos and vitamins.. when adding this, you can never be sure if you may be overdosing one or more of the trace minerals contained in it..
Why not save yourself the decision and just try feeding your fish an extra time per day?
That may very well solve all of your problems and make your fish happier at the same time..

Yea feed the fish more or try some frozen food. The better the food the better the poo, which is partly what should be feeding the coral.
