Is there a reason why I couldn't run my controller into my inverter?

I live in the boonies and it is not unusual for our electricity to go out three or times a year, sometimes for several hours. I don't worry about it too much unless I am out of town, but there have been times where I lost my clock settings.

Can you tell me what the wattage of the ACII is?

Yes, you can run the controller off a UPS. The AC2 draws less than 10 Watts.
