AquaJr new DC8 problems

After swaping out the recalled DC8 to the new one used on a aquaJr, I have having more problems with lights turning off and on by themselves and topoff on while it is supposed to be off. Anyone has the same problem? Does it have to do with the firmware that I read on the other threads?

I had the same problem before too. Found the culprit though. It was the my power compact ballast that was causing the acjr to run abnormally. I end up replacing the ballast.

Try unplugging your lighting and monitor the acjr to see if it start to work properly.

What I also notice is that my probes are giving me erroreous reading. So, one thing you can do also is to move your temp and ph probes and just place it in a cup with s/w seperated from your sump and/or main tank. You might be getting leakage current from your other devices and its creaping thru your probes then causes your acjr to send wrong signal to dc8.

hey Curt,

Is there any way to know what is new and/or bug fixes in each version of the firmware? Are there any new commands in the 1B06 version?

No new functionality was added to 1B06. We just changed the timing and added some diagnostics on the control port.

Still having problems with the controller. One MH light will go off when it is supposed to be on, while the other one will go on while it is supposed to be off. Everything is going nuts. Found out that the kalk topoff is on while it is not supposed to. Tunze pump on and off. It goes on and on..... Y'day, one of the MH ballast is not lighting the bulb. That was the one that keeps going off when it is supposed to be on. So I plugged it into a regular outlet and nothing happened either. So may be it is just a coincident. Not blaming the controller. But then, when I plug a regular 10W strip light into the same outlet as the MH, I can't control it. It stays on all the time. When I send a signal to the DC8, the green light will blink but nothing happens. The light is still on. I never had that problem before. I checked the firmware on the unit. It says 3.00J-6A05. So frustrated with this equipment. The unit was bought brand new in less than a year ago. Please help.

The link was mislabeled on the web page. It has been corrected now.

Is that going to fix the problem?

This is what I don't understand. The A01 outlet seems to be stuck to the ON position. No matter what I did, I can't turn it off. I tried everything. Never had this problem before. I unplugged everything on the DC8 except a strip light on A01. Unplugged the whole DC unit. Rebooted the controller. It is still ON. Can't use manual control to turn it off either. I hope this new firmware will fix it. But I doubt it. Seems to be a hardware problem since the outlet worked fine before.

Have you tried switching the dip switch over to "D"? Give it a try.

Just tried that. Still stuck at the ON position. Nothing works!!
