i was going to get a new 250 HQI DE pendant, and i was wondering which one would be better.... the aquamedic ocean light 250, or the PFO mini pendant 250 watt... with this one i could either go with a PFO or icecap ballast.... what do you guys think? thanks in advance

I dont know about the aquamedic, but I use two PFO mini's with icecap ballasts and I've never had a problem. They were very easy to setup and wire and everything. I would recommend them.

I just got prob the last two AM 250 Pendants on the market, I tried everywhere! good luck trying to find someone who has them in stock. The warehouse had a fire in December and they are not getting a shipment from germany until the end of the month.

not to hijack..... but how is the light output on the PFO's with the "spider reflectors?" is the light well distributed and bright?

Nemofish, honestly the PFO's are the only MH reflectors I've had experience with, so I have nothing to compare them to. But FWIW I think they are great. They spread out the light fairly well, and are very bright. I have 2 over my 4' long tank, about 8 inches above the water and there are no dark spots at all. Standing back and looking at the tank there isn't any noticable scatter, it's all going down into the tank. I have heard that the lumenarc reflectors are pretty much the best on the market these days, I have no experience with them though. HTH
