Aquanotes questions

Got a few questions on aquanotes and was wondering if any of you bought it with the group buy at SITC

3. Does aquanotes allow for me to setup email alarms with the AQ Jr or do I need the ethernet capability of the AQ3. (I have no problem leaving the computer running at all times., also it is set up to a home networkwith broadband.)

4. is it possible to use aquanotes to access the AQ jr remotely? The site isnt clear as to if its possible with the software and the AQ jr, appears to be possible without it on the AQ3 with ethernet but not without the software on the JR correct?

haha, stick to your story, someone will believe ya. This is off topic, but since no one is answering, hows is that whole setup? i went to their website and read about the program you have and it sounds amazing. Haveing everything loged into a computor is just genius. like most people on this forum i spend a lot of time on the computor that would be be great to monitor everything from your computor. But thats just first thought, is it really as neat as i think?

I've got an ACIII so I'm putting 2+2 together with how the non-ethernet capable prior models worked.

#3 - You will need to keep your PC running with Aquanotes for it to send email.

#4 - You should be able to view current parameters and graphs if you are running a web server on your PC that is accessable by the internet.

After playing with it for a hwile I think Paul is right, of course I have windows XP home.. the only version of windows that desnt support webserving, oh well at least I can get the alarms working tonit if all goes well.

Ricanboy, after a few hours it is set up and running, I think this may be my favorite toy for the tank yet, well worth it in my eyes.

OK it is now confirmed, Aquanotes and a AQ JR WILL email alarms, only catch is it seems that AQNotes has to be running on the computer and computer turned on.

Also this thing was amazingly easy to setup, I was planning on it takeing all nite and was done completely in 2.5 hours, includeing the hardware installation

wow congrats, that is pretty quick for something that sounds pretty complicated. For the money it does seem worth it and when I upgrade I might be getting that. Hope you have a blast with it.

I'm so glad you got it all worked out so quickly. Aquanotes has a great rep for being easy to setup and program, but you've got some smarts to get it all done in so little time. I haven't used the Aquanotes yet, but can't wait to get the whole store tied into the comp system. We are going to try to do it wireless...I'll let you know how that works out when we get to the stage.

Im sur eit will work easily, I connected serial which is supposedly a little harder than ethernet. Im sure ill be a pro by the time youre ready to try it
