Well i was getting ready to order two Vantech 60 mm to replace the noisy aquapod when i noticed that my fan stopped working, my nano is probably around 1-2 months old and that is unacceptable. I was going to order them online, but now i need them ASAP. Just checked my temp, 84.7, i immediatly turned off light and totally opened the cover, the temp is now dropping.

I need to know of some place i can get a 60mm fan, and i need them now. I have Compusa, Bestbuy, Circuit City, and Radio Shack all in my area. I searche on Compusa & Bestbuys site and only found 80mm fans. can anyone recommend a brand i can get at one of these stores?

I am going to leave the lights off tommorow, and run the actinics when i get home from work and keep a close eye on the temps.

Thanks,

Jeff

Before your fan quit working, did you have a problem with it making a really loud whining noise whenever you turned on your white lights? I am having that problem with mine now and am planning on replacing the fan. Sometimes it takes 10 minutes to get it to turn on without the noise.

check out tigerdirect.com. Hands down those guys have te best deals on 60 and 80 mm case fans. You can go for the "looks stock but its not" look and get the regular black nylon fans, or trick out your aquapod with alunimum gloss or even led fans, and most fans are under 8 bucks. I think they even have a 60mm pack with three or four fans for like three bucks.

I would check the dba on these because most are upwards of 30 which means it is going to scream in your hood making the stock fan sound like a whisper.

Yes, it was really loud, and kind of sound like it was grinding, normally when i did the normal bang on the hood it got a little better.

I ordered the two Vantech fans at work today, with two 2-3 pin adaptors. I am only going to run the lights when home so i can moitor the temperature.

Can i leave actinics on all day without worrying about overheating?

thanks,

Jeff
