Aquapod 24 gal mods

Are there any mods that will improve my AP 24 gal? Like lights more power heads etc...

I see that you use the bioballs in your filtration system, I was told that mine should be removed in my 24gal. The lfs said that does more harm than good. Any thoughts??

Ditch the balls and add rock rubble.

I have kept the bioballs in my AP 24 gal. I know lots of people say they are nitrate factories. I haven't had any problems, but I don't know that they've done anything wonderful either.

I have added a small powerhead (Koralia 1) for some additional flow in my tank.

I see the cord on the left side of your tank for your pump. What is the smaller cord on the right side for?
