I have always been intrigued by mantis shrimp. That was an awesome read...one example of why I wont keep one...THAT POOR GUYS FINGER!

One interesting thing I recently learned about them is that Mantis "prawns" are eaten all over the world. We spend a good deal of money on them, keep them as pets, do all we can to keep them alive, and they are just a food item. That's true of so many of our reef critters but I never realized that about mantis before.

I have to admit I am fascinated by mantis shrimp, but so far not enough to create a separate tank to house one. The wife tolerates two tanks, I think three would be pushing it...
