Sorry no one has responded. I did some research using both Melafix and PimaFix. AP recommends for certain conditions to use both.
What an awful smell. Even my neighbors asked what I was I doing. I guess I soon got used to it. When people would come into my home they would recoil like being hit with an invisible force field or something.
Anyway, to use it properly you can't use your skimmer and UV. I don't like turning off either and, alas the stress those two being off is not worth it to me. Anyway, they didn't cure the sick fish, but maybe they helped prevent the other fish from getting sick, or maybe those fish weren't going to get sick anyway.
I'd rather do a proper diagnosis and use a proper medication (e.g., antibiotic for bacterial infections) in a separate treatment tank.
