I have always been under the impression that most aquarist when they hear terms such as nano, pico, large, small, or even massive aquariums they have a general idea what size aquarium they are talking about. That was until I was reading peoples posts around the internet about their nano 40 breeder. Ok. I have never referred to a 40 breeder a as nano, but I feel that it tends to be an overlooked response. Its not the end of the world if people refer to their aquarium in a certain size category, but I feel like there has to be a general rule out there for size criteria and labeling. Here is what I call tanks by there size.
Pico 1-6 US Gallon
Nano 7-30 US Gallon
Small 40-75 US Gallon
Medium 80-125 US Gallon
Large 150-450 US Gallon
Massive 500+ US Gallon
