Aquatic Life T5 HO

Hi! I have a 55 gallon aquarium with a 48" T5 HO from Aquatic Life. I have not changed the bulbs yet because I have only had the system since April. My tank has been established since May 2010 and I have always had a T5 HO.

Currently I have 2 leather corals, zoanthids, frogspawn, and a candy cane coral. My candy cane coral has always been in the same spot and was looking great until about a week ago and then it started receding.

None of my parameters have changed and my alkalinity and calcium have been great.

Any ideas on what could be happening? I lost a blasto coral last month and don't want to lose my candy cane as well.

Also, would you recommend changing the actinic bulbs from the original bulbs?

Check your phosphate levels, that could be the problem. If you have not done so yet do a water change and have your local fish store test your water. If your lights are that new, you probably do not need to change your bulbs. This is why I think there must be something wrong with your water parameters. Best of luck.
