Had an unfortunate experience so far with Aquatraders...
Ordered an Odyssea Pro Pack Skimmer (to replace my old BAK PAK 2), and it arrived. First, my pump wouldn't fit into the slot. No big deal - that's not their fault. Called the company and they said to use one of their pumps, which would fit. Okay, fine - ordered one.
Once it came in, I hooked it up and turned on. I should have tested it in the sink first (just didn't think of it). Within seconds, it started leaking like crazy. I immediately shut it off. Again, not a huge deal - got a bad unit. I understand these things happen.
Call Aquatraders, they require a digital picture for proof. I understand that. Turned back on, and took some pictures. Sent pictures over, they said, "Okay, either ship back the entire unit or pay us another $17 and we'll ship you a new one." Not the best return policy, but hey, these guys aren't exactly Amazon. Plus, I can just junk the old one when the new one comes in. I authorized them to charge another $17.
Got an email saying it was on the way. That was 6 weeks ago. I got married, went on honeymoon, and kind of forgot about it. Then I realized I never received it. Shot two emails in the last 7 days (with the previous emails attached so just they wouldn't think I was a nut), and have not heard back at all.
So, I hate to think a company is intentionally NOT trying to solve my problem, because I'm sure these guys are legit. Just a little frustrated that I never received my replacement unit.
Anyone have any advice? Anyone know these guys? I finally sent a last email with, "Hey, let me know if you're shipping this, otherwise I'm going to have to file a claim with my credit card."
Obviously, I don't want to do anything other than receive my unit. Again, I'm thrilled their prices are so low, just want to know if this has happened to anyone else. Thanks!
