Aqueon 120G RR Hole Clearance

I'm in the process of building my stand and am utilizing a 2X6 / 2X4 frame to support an Aqueon 120G RR (predrilled) tank. I don't have the tank yet, but the footprint dimensions of my support are 25" X 49" (I was able to measure the tank at the LFS and actual outside dimensions of the tank are 24.5" X 48.5" so this should give me 1/4" clearance around the edges).

However, I was unable to measure the distance from the bottom outside edge of the tank to the overflow / return holes due to the nature of the tank sitting on the stand in the store.

Can someone tell me if the pre-drilled holes on the bottom of the tank are far enough away from the edge that I won't have any issues when it comes time to plumb?

-Most factory stands sit on a 3/4" frame and I'm concerned that the 1-1/2" I have will protrude too far to get the bulkheads on. Thanks!

I just built a stand for this exact tank using 2x6's for the top frame and 2x4 for the bottom and didn't have any problems. The stand was 25" wide (if I remember right) and the tank sits about 1/8" from the front edge giving enough room for fitting and tightening the bulk head nut on the back side.

1.5" in from the outside edge of the frame would be awfully close to the edge of the bottom glass. I don't have your exact tank but I would bet money that you will be fine. I used to have an aqueon RR tank and I'm sure it was more than 1.5". If you need to cut a small notch you could clamp and glue a 1/4" board on the other side of the notch if you are worried about strength/stiffness.

bottom line - don't worry about it for now, it will be fine. good question though.
