I don't see how one could fit a skimmer in that sump. Although it isn't necessary, I think the majority of folks use one.

Perhaps if the foot print is small it can share the chamber with the return pump (provided it's foot print is small also).

I'm confused. Are you running this sump already? From your posts, you are cycling a tank so I'd assume so. Then you should know how big it is right? Took me two seconds to find dimensions on the sump, according to the PDF I downloaded from Drs Foster and Smith website, the sump is in total 19 7/8" long, that center section is only 4 3/4 inches wide. Right there in your picture of the skimmer it tells you it is 10x6 inches. Thus it won't fit.

No had a sump made but it is jacked up so my wife bought this one for me and was gonna be a surprise. Thats why I was asking cause I am not sure it will work either.

I know it won't work. My sump has a 9x11 section for the skimmer and I use that same skimmer. It takes up the majority of that space.

have some glass cut (or cut it yourself) and make your own sump out of an off the self tank. it's easier than it looks.

You should just follow some of the suggestions for fixing the sump you already had made.

Yeah the new sump.is way small if I get return I will use my current one as a refugium and make a bridge between the 2

Sure, but not many would fit the model 1. Not many are only 4 inches wide. A nano skimmer maybe. Nothing suitable for a 55g.

yeah, you only need 1 to fit for it to work. I found one in BRS site that is rated for 120 gallon that is 3.75" x 5.4" footprint.

Yeah it just showed up and is way to small. Sending it back and will order maybe the model 4 or just a 36" crystal refugium from brs
