I have had a young ocellaris clown in my QT tank for 2 weeks. He had been eating well and acting normally but today I noticed he seems to have lost his vision. He can't locate the food, bumps into things. His eyes look clear, and he has no other visible problems. The QT has 2 other fish in it and they are not having any problems. I treated the tank with a 5 day course of Paraguard and I wonder if that may be the problem (I had read other threads that suggested clownfish may be particularly sensitive to copper treatments and wonder if they are also sensitive to the aldehyde in paraguard).
The current ammonia level is between 0 and 0.25 ppm. pH = 8.3, SG = 1.025, temp = 78. My API Nitrate test is screwy in that the QT water immediately turned orange (20ppm) when I added the first reagent and didn't change after adding the second reagent and waiting 5 minutes--perhaps the paraguard is interfering with the test?
I am mixing up a batch of SW to do a water change, since I can't think of anything else to do.
Any other advice would be appreciated, I hope there is something I can do to restore this little guy to good health.
Thanks,
Kurt
