Are lobsters reef safe?

I am looking to get THIS guy here and wanted to make sure he is reef safe.

I currently have a cleaner shrimp, Emporator Angle, Yellow Tang, Two true Percs, Madis Blenny and several hermits and snails.

Any danger in adding this guy?

thats nuts

to be honest with u i feel the same way.I done even keep crabs. My boy has that exact same lobster,& a Sallylightfoot about 4" around.

He is a member here maybe he will chime in with some pics.

I think you would not see it much unless it was in a small tank, even then they tend to be reclusive. Probably be able to catch fish as well. Cool creatures though in my book.

I have that exact lobster in my 220. I have never witnessed any agression from it. One thing for sure, they MOVE LOTS of substrate around. I was foolish with my aquascaping having not buried my rocks. Needless to say they are buried now, lots of settlement and shifting thanks to mr lobster. Mine is about 5 inches long and about four inches across the claws.

My friend has a lobster and it eats his snails very fast. Then he made a big pile with the shells. But it isn't that exact lobster.

I had a crab that I got out. What I did was take a glass or a glass jar and lean it on the rock on the bottom. Then put a piece of raw shrimp in the bottom. He will go in for the shrimp but the sides are to slippery to climb out. It works on crabs but a lobster might be able to get out. Its worth a try.

i have the 120g tank that BLKTNG was talking about. the lobster is fine in my reef. i do see him often and at nights sometimes. i have yet to lose a fish or coral to him. dont have any pics. i never see him when i have my camera out.
