are MH better for mushrooms?

I have some basic purple mushrooms, and i want some rics soon.
I currently have 48w pc over about 10g...i am asking or a 70 MH for xmas...will these help the shrooms? i know mh isn't necessary, but will they be better? thanks

I don't think 70 w is too much for that depth of tank...I have an all mushroom tank with a 150 w MH 20 K bulb over a 20 inch tank depth(34 Gallon solana). What color bulb are you thinking about? The only thing I wish I had was some additional actinic lighting...But, I love the look of MH on the shrooms...

MH will speed up the growth... but then again, anything is better than PC's.

PC bulbs are ok, but need replacing every 4-6 months, and most people don't realize that.

I agree, go with metal halide as the growth and coloration will be better.

yeah. i got the 70w sunpod hqi for xmas. I have a 14k bulb

I've got 500w of 20,000K color MH's over 120g and my shrooms are unreal.

They'll do fine, once they adopt to more daylight conditions.

I have 250w MH over my shrooms and the colors pop alot better than when they were under PC.

i too have the 70w sunpod over a batch of shrooms and they look and grow great under it.
