Are new lights causing another diatom bloom

Or maybe a conspiracy theory buy our light and cause bad algea only so you buy out powerheads after all you already have the reeflink. I doubt.... prolly just an excuse to buy more equipment

I'm remembering you set this tank up around Valentines Day or a little after? The 17th perhaps? So, tank is 6-7 weeks old and you have fish, corals and feeding going on. You can expect issues with algae, etc etc for most new tanks for the first several months unless you're a pro. Just keep an eye on things and quit adding stuff for a while.

What I learned after a few months with my G3's.
Step 1 Find the amount of light I think will be perfect.
Step 2 slap self vigorously for five seconds
Step 3 reduce step 1's amount by 15% with a 6 week light ramp period set.
Step 4 celebrate in the perfect ecosystem...until maintenance day.....when I test water and relize I'm an idiot for some reason or another.

if you ever use Kessil LED's reduce by 50% at first.

LED lighting looks crisp to me but the sheer power is easy to under estimate.

I chalk all writing errors to a good Saturday night. Steaks, drinks, and fire.

I guess I should knock myself out Steve at corner reef said start at 40% but don't know if that was overall brightness or intensity. I am using the sps ab+ program a little modified on the back end. But for the peak it is at 59%. I have been monitoring corals closely. The one good thing is that all corals were introduced to brand new t5 bulbs and only under them a couple weeks before I got G4

50% is the peak of my G3's. they ramp from 45-50% over two hours then down to 0% over four hours.

Mine is about 10 above and I slowly ramp up from 0-23% then on up again to 59% for the majority of the day and then back down more gradual

36Lx18x24h I am so glad I got the pro as the xr30 non pro has 32" spread and the pro has 36" it is 65gallon no dark areas even on the lower edges but the corals are young so we will see. I really want to get some mp40's tho. Gotta save money

I prolly won't add anything for about two weeks. And it maybe another chalice frag and some more pods that's it

I would heed to the advice of the experienced reefers trying to give you solid advice. Not trying to be a di€k but why ask if you don't listen. You remind me of myself. Except I listen now (for the most part).
