I have opportunity to purchase a NIB PM RFCa4 for a decent price. I had decided that for my next, larger, setup, I would use a GEO 618. My next setup will be either a 180 gallon or 215 gallon setup.
Both reactors have the same recirculation pump, but the GEO has a 6" chamber and the PM has a 4" diameter chamber. Both are 18" tall. So basically, if the both operate similarly in regards to set and forget, the only difference will be how often the media is changed.
For those of you that are running a PM reactor, is it set and forget? Is it difficult to tweak in your system? Are you having to fiddle with it daily, weekly, monthly? How often do you have to refill the chamber?
