Are sea horses reef safe?

The question is more like- Are reefs seahorse safe?

Seahorses just can't be kept with any stinging corals (or anemones for that matter). They also need low flow.

So sea horses are better off in a species only tank or with other slow moving, nonaggressive tank mates.

Would an eel want to eat sea horses? I am in the planning stages of an odd display tank set up. Thinking of a single specimen - like a snowflake eel. But, sea horses are so intriguing!

Yes an eel will eat a seahorse. Seahorses should be kept by themselves or with other slow moving small fish. Pipefish, small gobies...

Im thinking about setting up a small tank with some seahorses and maybe pipefish.

Could a pistol shrimp/watchman pair be kept with a seahorse? I assume so as they stay on the bottom and are not predators.

There is a seahorse forum a few sections down. I kept seahorses for about 6 months, they're lots of work. The tank needs to be designed around their needs.
