are slugs bad for reef?

i woke up this morning and went past my tank and saw two slug on the front of my tank. as soon as i turned on some lights they made a mad dash for the live rock. my ? is are the reef safe. or should i try to catch them and get rid of them. currently i have some mushrooms zoa's hammers and a leather.

We got our slugs from adding 'ReefStew' to our 125....got leathers, zoa's, small and large feather dusters, frogspawn/torch, Kenya tree's, all types of 'shrooms and the slugs havent bothered any of them...the slugs we have are anywhere from the baby's at about 1/8" long up to some adults that are about 1" long and have a 'shell' on their backs (looks like about index fingernail size approx). Now if we can just train them to eat hair algae

If they have shells then the slugs are Stomatella which are grazers and beneficial. If they're true sea slugs (no shells or reduced hidden ones) they could be either safe grazers or be predators on your corals, it depends on what group of sea slugs they belong too.

leslieh agree stomatella snails kind of look like slugs, they are great in large numbers
