Are these baby gorilla crabs?

The other day I saw a small crab in my tank that I didn't know was there. I set a trap last night and caught three of them! They are small, have pointy black tipped claws, but aren't hairy.

Any idea what these little guys are? Are they bad? Everything in the pictures and video went into my sump.

First off I don't think any crab is a good crab especially to have them in a DT. They all belong back in the ocean or in the sump.

I do not believe they are gorilla crabs, not sure of what crab species they are. Where did your rock come from? If from TBS I'd ask Richard to ID them.

I've found hairy crabs with black tipped claws and non-hairy crabs with black tipped claws. None are trustworthy, whatever they are. A big one killed my royal gramma. I've seen a smaller one snip off tube coral polyps and another one pinch and tug on an anemone tentacle.

those 3 could be the kind that live on coral. some are harmful, some are helpful. my emerald crab ate my gold coral banded shrimp.
