My friend had me photograph some new corals he has ,I have never seen any like these before has anyone else ?

Looks to be the standard striped Discosoma to me, which I believe is fairly common. Many people seem to regard mushrooms with disdain, as they can grow prolifically, but I like the striped ones, in moderation.

I think they are refering more to the odd coloration of it. Looks like a pie slice.

Do you know if this occured naturally or a product of propagation?

This mushroom was imported like that with several smaller ones showing the same color change ,this is the only one I could get a decent picture of

Dustin1300 that is the actual colors of the coral , there are several others in the same colony that have the pie shaped different color . That is why I was wondering if it had been seen before . They belong to a friend of mine and that was the only good pic I could get. Just wondering if I should get some for myself?

cool shroom. I've seen a few of these do that split color thing. Makes every one of them one of a kind.

I saw an online vendor selling ones colored like that for like $100 a polyp! They claimed they were very rare. Wish I could remember the site and post a link to it for you. They look pretty cool!

Common don't pay more then $15 a head for adults as they will be taken you for a ride.

I sell my Zebra blues/greens and teals for $5 a head
