So I've been through ich before and have been reading a ton on ich. I used copper before and let my tank sit empty for 8 weeks. Dumb mistake landed me dealing with the ich problem again 2 years later. I decided to go with the tank transfer method this time having a purple tang and flame angel. I just finished my last transfer and thought I saw my bi color blenny itch against a decoration today. Any for sure way of telling if my fish are cured?

Thanks for the recommendations. My new tank wont be ready for a few weeks so they will remain in qt until then. I'll probably do it again to be sure. I did follow it perfectly but I do NOT want to go through this again with my new tank. I have another question if you guys don't mind chiming in. I had one of my clowns disappear in my 40g breeder and I have never found it. I am letting the tank sit for 8 weeks fishless. My question is if that fish is still in there how much longer should it sit to make sure the ich completely dies off? I have turned that tank upside down looking for it. Don't know how you can loose a full grown bright orange fish in a 40 breeder.
Good info to know. It's definitely dead but haven't seen any changes in nitrates and have no clue where it could be. Must have a good clean up crew. I did my what was thought to be last transfer and noticed spots all over my bi color blenny. Not really sure where I went wrong with the transfers but I guess I'm starting back from the beginning. Ich sucks!!!

Right there with you. I've been trying to cure my fish of it for the last 6 weeks. It's been very trying, from problems with copper sensitivity to a couple fish deaths from attempting tank transfer. I really hate this parasite.
I used copper on my original clowns and had great success. They were the only fish I had so a 10 gallon tank with some copper and some water changes and I was good to go. Now that I have the purple tang and tomini I'm afraid to use it. The problem is I'm leaving town for a week and a half and my wife wants nothing to do with transferring fish. She's good with feeding but not all the other stuff. I have my tangs and foxface in a 29 and the smaller fish in a 10 that I've been transferring. The tangs and foxface look to be cured. Not a spot on them but the bi color is cover. He is in the tank with the small fish so I'll need to treat the small fish again. Not sure if it's because he hangs out on the bottom and thats where the ich falls to or what. I did the same procedure with both tanks.
