Are they "ready" for the reef?

I started to sell a few of my oldest batches of true perc. babies. They are about 6 months old. In my care, they're in a nursery tank with many of their siblings. The tank is bare bottom with only a sponge filter in it and nothing else. As you all know, these babies stay in a group all the time to feel secure. My question is would they be ready to be placed in a reef tank (alone with no other clown fish) but with many other fish species, corals, strong flow, etc? I'm not sure if I have to set up a small reef for them to make easier transition for them to survive in a larger reef environment. What does anyone here usually do?

If setting another tank up were an option for anyone on this forum I bet 99% would go for it. I don't know what size you 6mo old babies are, but I have a 180G reef and some smaller bangaii fry tanks. I thought some of my older fry were big enough to move to the reef, but unfortunately they were not.
