I have a stable system with no nitrite yet there is always a slight purple hue to the API test. Even tested 0 TDS water and it wasn't the pure blue on the color card.

Blues, purples, pinks, greens, yellows :headwally: makes my colorblind eyes cross, wish my Hanna Checkers would hurry up and get here

Now to pick out my RO/DI unit

I'd make sure that ammonia and nitrite STAYS down a week before adding livestock.

Good advice,,,well until I went to Petsmart to get some stuff for my FW tanks..
I now have a 40g breeder.... Looks like I will move everything over and start the cycle again... as soon as I sneak it into the house.....guess the 10g bowfront can be a QT tank....Last tank I am buying....this year...............this hobby is worse on the wallet than my gun collecting :crazy1:

Should be an easier and faster cycle in the 40g, since the bacteria colony has already ramped up and moving the live rock over should bring the culture with it.

Well it has been a little over a week, all critters are in tank, (two three stripe damsels, two peppermint shrimp, two emerald crabs, two turbos, and two other small snails I dont remember which kind)
