arrow crab owners.....

i had an arrow crab about a year ago that got HUGE..from leg tip to leg tip was over a foot....but i guess i wasnt able to feed him enuff cuz he turned into a killer and started to pick off my smaller fish....but my brisstle worm population went WAY DOWN!!!!! i donated him to my LFS's large 180g corner display tank and there he is till this day.....

im wanting to get another one but the smallest i can find....and add it to my sump....for some reason all my brisstles have migrated down there!!

and then maybe add it to the tank since they are so cool to watch....

has anyone every had an arrow go killer? or was it just a fluke? i dont want a repeat of the last crab but would love to have another one.

i have had 1 in the past that would kill off my hermits and snails. never had one kill any fish though. i would sit there and watch as the arrow would pull the snail or hermit right outa its shell :lol: ihave never had a really big one either... so i would do some searching around and see if other have had the eating fish problem.

I saw two different species of arrow crabs on Diver's Den on the same day.

If you search around you might find a peaceful arrow crab.

Had the exact same thing happen a number of years ago, grew quite large and went crazy on my fish population. Based on the research I have done it seems to be a trait as they get larger their appetite tends to turn towards the more unique livestock in a tank.

To bad because they are interesting to watch.

I had one that would try and catch fish. It would swing at them but was never fast enough to get one.
