Asterina star fish

My tank... Tanks... Have been set up for 6 months or so... And yesterday.. For the first time... 3 asterina star fish show up.. 2 on back glass.. And one on a rock...
Just lil guys.. The white ones that look a bit darker in the center... All of then only have 3 legs.. And a few tiny nubs..

Anyway... My question... Is that normal for them to just appear like that... Could they have really been hidden that long..
Mind you.. I spend like an hour or more probing with a flash light... Just looking at everything to see if anything new pops up...
I think I've memorized every nook and cranny..
I've seen some weird things happen.. But the stars kinda shocked me.. One morning their they were
 
Anything wet that we add to our tanks can carry eggs or larval stages of sea life that is easily overlooked by the human eye, not to mention what could be in the recesses of live rock.
 
No.. Nothing new.. Last edition to the live rock was about 2 months ago

Probably came in on this, or any other piece of live rock or live sand, or even a frag plug. I've had them since the start of my tank, they are hard to see against rock. Bought a frag of zoas one time at a swap, inspected the tank a lot checking out all the frags. Starred at that frag a long time, picked it out, the guy bagged it, I took it home and found one on the plug as I was putting it in my tank.
