Asterina starfish

I noticed that it seems like these Asterina starfish are eating my Pink and Gold Zoo's. I have always heard that they do not bother corals, but it seems like they are. They are attached to the stems and tops of some. Is there a way to get rid of these.

Depending in your bio load right now ie what fish you currently have.

And budget. I would say a wrasse thier amazing janitors and depending what type are reef safe.

Harlequin shrimp. But once stars are gone it starves

Trust me I have sat thier for hours picking them out it gets old....
I would of taken my own advice but yet again I'm cheap lol.....

Just two avenues you could take

I have three fish right now. My tank size is a 90 gallon with 100 gallon sump. The fish I have are a yellow tang, bar gobie, and a wrasse that I bought as a Neon Wrasse, but dont think that is what it is. The attachment is what it looks like, but I don't know what type it is.

A Harlequin Shrimp would clean them out but you would need another food source for them. I have a pair that gets a starfish every week or so.

I would have considered it a good thing in my last tank to have Asterinas eating my Pink and Golds! They took over before I pulled the rock.

Which ones do you like, those zoathids, or the starfish? It's a real easy answer when it boils down to me... GL.

I dont think the asterina are the problem. In my tank I've noticed that the starfish only eat the zoas that are already dying. There is another reason behind your zoas dying then the starfish.

The only ones that don't look good are the ones that the starfish are on. Would the wrasse that I have eat the Harliquin Shrimp if I add one.

It's possible that the Wrasse would eat the Harlies. Not sure what kind it is but doesn't look like one of the reef safer ones.
