asterina starfish

I noticed a star fish last night in my tank, its not bigger than a pencil eraser including legs and looks emerald green and white. I have looked online and one site I get that asterina starfish if thats what they are are ok and then on another I hear that this color may be a coral eater. Can anyone shed some light on this for me please?

I've never had any problems with them...I'd call them a good starfish.

most are not bad but they will become pest if allowed to populate

There are a ton of different kinds of Asterina starfish. Some aren't bad and just eat algea, some are bad and eat coral. You won't really know unless you see them on your corals. If they are an issue a pair of harlequin shrimp will eat them for you and look cool doing it.

look at the garf site as above it looks like the ones that eat sps coral
not a good star fish at all
