ATO how many people dont use

I have my ATO hooked up to a float valve, so if it ever quits, the float valve will catch it.

Of course there is the other side, what if it never comes on and things just evap down to really high salinity? Well I figure in nature that reefs and lagoons have some swings in salinity during storms and tides, etc.

So I figure that as long as they don't happen on a daily basis, you should be ok.

Currently, I just have a Kent Float Valve in my sump hooked up to a Reservoir (10 gallons max). I have it set to a slow drip because I add Kalk directly to my topoff water, two years running with no issues. However I would like to run one of these in the near future. I think that alone, float valves are much more reliable than float switches but this unit combines the two.

Reeferhead...Mine is the same solution and I add calcium to my topoff water.
