ATO suggestions

Atm I'm running a 25g cube, I was looking at tunze nano ato and the smart ato systems. Wondering if anyone has used and/or would recommend those or any other ones.

Thanks

I'm a fan of dual sensors for safety redundancy. I use the Tunze Osmolator 3155 which has an optical eye, mechanical float switch back up and max pump runtime shutoff. It's got a long history of reliability with excellent user reviews. An interesting newer offering is the Icecap ATO as it has 2 optical sensors, one as primary, the other as backup... at decent price point too. Again, it's fairly new so the jury is still out on it's reliability.

The Smart Micro ATO gets very good reviews but it only has a single optical eye sensor. The Tunze ATO gets decent reviews, but only has a single mechanical float.

If money isn't an issue, I'd get the newest generation Spectrapure Ultra Precise ATO. It uses dual pressure tube sensors and their bombproof variable speed peristatlic metering pump.

I have the SMART on my 60 cube. Works great; only issue I have had are when any bubbles congregate around the little eye, it can't handle that and just beeps until you unplug and plug back in. I moved the eye to a different spot and hasn't happened since. Probably happened 8 times in just under a year. Good news is it didn't just go into auto-fill mode and flood my tank.
