Attaching acrylic cover to overflows..

I have a newb question. I just got a custom tank from glasscages.com. It has 2 overflows and I got two acrylic covers to cover them with. I had assumed they would be attached, are they normally?

I can do it must if I know how... Or know if I should, just looking for some help and advice. Thanks in advance.

I'm sure that most people thought that you were referring to 'top of overflow' covers... Those acrylic covers are just to block the view of pipes in the overflow...if you want to be able to remove them, then I would think that some silicone should hold them in place

Ok, is there a specific kind I should/should not get?

Regular aquarium silicone should do fine...it seals stronger to the glass, so that you'll be able to 'disconnect' it from the acrylic side when you want to remove it.

****do NOT get any silicone that contains 'mold inhibitors'!

I had a tank from them. I know what you mean. I just filled the tank with sand while pressing on the cover and the sand kept it pressed against the glass. I had it like that over a year with no problems. Plus it was nice that I could take it off to clean instead of having it silicone in and cleaning it on the tank.

This is very helpful! I will try this and go from there!
